Wyllie Group has joined with Sydney based Trafalgar Corporate Pty Ltd and the industry superannuation fund C+Bus to purchase an 8.52ha former oil terminal site from BP.
The single largest privately owned and undeveloped site in the city of Darwin, the land is adjacent to the established Stuart Park residential district and enjoys panoramic views over Frances Bay. The development concept will create Darwin's first master planned, medium density community featuring approximately 550 x 2 & 3 bedroom units, villas and townhouses developed over a 5 to 10 year period.
The proposed master plan for the site incorporates community and leisure facilities including a number of swimming pools, water features and extensive landscaping. The new residential precinct is intended to have a resort atmosphere and is a project unique to Darwin. For Wyllie Group it continues the successful association with Darwin that started with Cullen Bay. Project costs are in the order of $96 million.
