In a joint venture with aged care specialist Hall & Prior, Wyllie Group was selected in October 1999 by the Health Department of WA as preferred tenderer for the construction of a new 86-bed aged care facility in Albany, Western Australia to replace the Department's own 48-bed Spencer Lodge.
The new facility was constructed on land of approximately 12,000 sqm adjacent to the existing government nursing home.
In addition to development and ownership of the property, the joint venture is responsible for long term management of the facility which will provide high care, dementia, low care and respite places.
The rapidly changing demographic profile of Australia is causing an ever increasing demand for aged care facilities and is a field of investment that Wyllie Group has identified as being an important contributor to the company's investment strategy.
